Privacy Policy - Co-Skip

Privacy Policy

Effective Date: April 21, 2025

Welcome to Co-Skip. Your privacy and anonymity are fundamental principles upon which Co-Skip is built. This Privacy Policy outlines our practices concerning information – specifically, what we deliberately *do not* collect and what limited, non-personal data might be involved when you interact with our website or service.

Our Core Privacy Commitment: Zero User Data Collection

Co-Skip is designed from the ground up to operate without collecting or storing personally identifiable information (PII) about its users. We believe strongly in user anonymity.

  • No Personal Information Required: We do NOT require, request, collect, or store any personal details such as your name, email address, physical address, phone number, or any other direct identifiers to use Co-Skip.
  • Anonymous Payments via Stripe: Purchases are processed through Stripe's secure checkout pages. We do not receive or store your credit card details, billing address, or any other sensitive payment information. Stripe handles this independently according to their privacy policy. From our perspective, the transaction is anonymous – we only receive confirmation that a payment for a specific key type was successful and the necessary information to generate and deliver the key via the success page.
  • Key System Enhances Privacy: We utilize a license key system specifically to avoid user accounts, logins, and the associated data collection they entail. Your key is your proof of purchase and access.
  • No Discord Linking: Your identity and activity within our Discord community server are entirely separate from your use of the Co-Skip software and your license key. We do not link Discord usernames to license keys and actively discourage any attempts to do so.

Information We Do *Not* Store or Access

  • We do not maintain databases linking users to keys.
  • We do not store records of who purchased which specific key.
  • We do not share any user information with third parties (because we don't collect it in the first place, beyond the unavoidable interactions described below).

Website Interaction & Tracking Technologies

While the Co-Skip application itself operates anonymously, interacting with our website (co-skip.com) involves standard web technologies, including tracking pixels and cookies, used for website analytics and advertising purposes.

  • What are Pixels & Cookies? These are small pieces of code (pixels) or text files (cookies) placed on your device when you visit our website.
  • Why We Use Them:
    • To understand how visitors use our website (e.g., which pages are popular).
    • To measure the effectiveness of our advertising campaigns (e.g., counting clicks from ads).
    • To track conversions (purchases) that originate from our ads.
    • To potentially enable targeted advertising features like showing ads to previous website visitors (retargeting) on other platforms.
  • Who Provides Them & What They Collect: We use standard tracking technologies provided by:
    • Google (Google Ads Tag / Google Analytics): Collects data such as your IP address, browser type, device information, pages visited, and interactions on the site. This helps us analyze traffic and measure ad performance. See Google's Privacy Policy.
    • TikTok (TikTok Pixel): Collects similar data (IP address, device/browser info, website activity) to track ad conversions and potentially build audiences for advertising on TikTok. See TikTok's Privacy Policy.
    • Meta (Facebook Pixel): Collects similar data (IP address, device/browser info, website activity) for tracking ad conversions and enabling targeted advertising features on Facebook and Instagram. See Meta's Privacy Policy.
Important: While these services collect data, Co-Skip does not attempt to link this website browsing data to individual Co-Skip software users or license keys. The data is used in aggregate form for the purposes listed above.
  • Your Control: Most web browsers allow you to control cookies through their settings. You can usually block or delete cookies, but this might affect the functionality of some websites. You can also often opt-out of targeted advertising through industry initiatives like the Digital Advertising Alliance (DAA) or Network Advertising Initiative (NAI).

AI Feature Interaction

When you use features within Co-Skip that involve sending screenshots or text to an Artificial Intelligence (AI) model (e.g., Gemini Pro), that data is sent directly from your device to the AI service provider's servers. This interaction does *not* pass through Co-Skip's servers, and we do not log or store the content you send or the responses you receive.

Anonymous Usage Statistics

We may collect highly aggregated, anonymous statistics related to the Co-Skip software, such as the total count of active keys or the number of times a core function (like getting an AI answer) is triggered globally across all users. This data is purely numerical, contains no identifiable information, and is used solely for monitoring overall system load, performance, and stability. It is never tied back to any specific user or key.

Data Security

While we minimize data collection, we implement reasonable technical and administrative measures to protect the integrity and security of the limited operational data we handle (like the anonymous usage statistics).

Key Handling & Recovery

Your unique license key is displayed only once on the Stripe confirmation page immediately after successful payment. It is your sole responsibility to copy and securely store this key.

Automatic recovery of lost keys is not possible because, as part of our commitment to anonymity, we do not store your personal purchase information (like email) directly linked to your license key on our application servers.

However, we understand keys can sometimes be misplaced. If you lose your key, you may contact support via our official Discord server. By providing sufficient details to help us locate your original transaction within our payment processor's records (such as the email address used for the purchase or the Stripe transaction ID), we may be able to manually identify the license key associated with that specific purchase.

This manual recovery process is not guaranteed, relies on the information available from the payment processor (Stripe), and requires your cooperation. It may take time to complete. Therefore, we strongly urge you to save your key immediately upon receipt using the copy or download features provided on the success page.

Children's Privacy

Our website and service are not directed towards individuals under the age of 13 (or a higher age threshold depending on jurisdiction). We do not knowingly collect any personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided us with information, please contact us immediately.

Changes to This Privacy Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Any changes will be posted on this page with an updated effective date. We encourage you to review this policy periodically.
